Bindon Design Group was asked to design a contemporary family home for a family of three people plus guest accommodation for frequent overseas visitors. This needed a renovation of the highest calibre with the existing cottage circa 1950 being half demolished and the new dwelling being built around it. The site is north facing so large expansive decks to enjoy the sun were required.
As in any contemporary design for modern living good indoor / outdoor flow and large entertaining areas were important. Children’s rooms needed to be accessible to the main core of the house yet not too removed from the Master Bedroom. A media room was required so the children could watch movies and play games in a separate environment to the main living.
A home office was required which was accessible to the front entry of the home.
