Mangrove Coast Ocean Golf Resort
Set on an uninhibited piece of landscape on the island of Hainan in South China, lies the Graham Marsh Designed Golf Course at Mangrove Bay. With the strong ‘ feng shui’ presence of the peninsula jutting into the harbour on a north south axis, the surrounding residential villa complex and subdivision has a distinctly unique New Zealand flavour. Commissioned to design a number of villas as part of a complete golf course community, Bindon Design Group were involved in the master planning of the residential subdivision, feasibility studies and preparation of developed design documentation for the villa project. The brief asked for an assortment of New Zealand inspired designs where each was unique in its shape and form, each with a different style and different size. The challenge was to provide intelligent, intriguing designs allowing for asian building techniques and standards. The result was an assortment of villas created using the latest in 3D ArchiCad software to meet and communicate the client brief.
